Customer Deposits in Commercial Banks Grew by 9.1% in October 2021

The Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) recorded total customer deposits in commercial banks reaching Rp 7,301 trillion in October 2021. This figure increased by 9.1% (yoy) compared to Rp 6,691 trillion in October 2020.

Deposits were still dominated by the over-Rp 5 billion category, reaching Rp 3,719 trillion. This segment also showed the highest growth at 13.6% (yoy) from Rp 3,272 trillion in October 2020.

The second largest deposit amount was found in the under-Rp 100 million category, totaling Rp 947 trillion. This increased by 3.2% (yoy) from Rp 918 trillion.

Deposits in the Rp 100 million to Rp 200 million category increased by 6.5% (yoy) to Rp 392 trillion. Meanwhile, deposits in the Rp 200 million to Rp 500 million category increased by 5.7% (yoy) to Rp 623 trillion.

Furthermore, deposits in the Rp 500 million to Rp 1 billion category increased by 4.8% (yoy) to Rp 537 trillion, and deposits in the Rp 1 billion to Rp 2 billion category rose by 4.9% (yoy) to Rp 475 trillion.

Finally, deposits in the Rp 2 billion to Rp 5 billion category increased by 5.2% (yoy) to Rp 609 trillion in October 2021.
