The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has closed registration for peer-to-peer (P2P) lending financial technology (fintech) platforms since February 2020. This moratorium was implemented to allow the OJK to focus on supervision and ensuring industry quality.

The moratorium has reduced the number of current P2P lending fintech players. There are 103 registered and licensed fintech players recorded with the OJK. This comprises 96 conventional fintech and 7 sharia fintech.

There are plans to lift this moratorium this year. Lifting the moratorium means that OJK will reopen fintech registration.
