8 Main Challenges for Investors Investing in Digital Investment Platforms

Investors on digital investment platforms sometimes encounter several obstacles. This impacts their investment activities, making them less than optimal.

According to a survey by the Center for Economics and Law Studies (CELIOS) and Pluang, unstable internet connection is the main obstacle for digital investors, accounting for 26%.

Other obstacles include the time needed to understand how online investing works (21.1%), and the difficulty in distinguishing between legal and illegal investments (17.4%).

Furthermore, 15.2% of respondents said they were confused about choosing the right application that suits their needs. 9% said their obstacle was the registration process requiring a lot of data and time.

Another 8.4% of respondents mentioned limited smartphone memory capacity. 1.5% cited other obstacles, while 1.4% said they still needed face-to-face transactions.

The survey also revealed several advantages of using digital platforms according to respondents, including better portfolio/asset monitoring (23%), more complete features (22%), cost savings (21%), better investment planning (20%), and increased opportunities for profit (14%).

This survey was conducted on 3,530 randomly selected respondents from June 20-28, 2022. The majority of respondents were from Java and Bali, aged 24-35, and primarily employed as private sector employees.
