KIC: Women Allocate More Additional Income to Savings

Additional income can be used for various things, one of which is saving. Women are more likely to save than men.

This is in line with the results of a survey by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC), which shows that 78% of women choose to allocate their additional income to savings. Meanwhile, only 67.7% of men allocate their additional income for the same purpose.

The next most common purpose for allocating additional income is business capital. The percentage for women is 46.4%, while for men it is 42.9%.

Furthermore, 34% of women and 34.5% of men allocate their additional income to increase investments. Then, 28.9% of women and 27.9% of men allocate their additional income to pay off existing debts.

Additionally, 8.4% of women and 6.2% of men allocate their additional income to spend on goods or services. Meanwhile, 2.7% of women and 2.1% of men allocate their additional income to be spent on vacations or personal trips in the future.

This survey was conducted on 2,288 female respondents aged 13-70 years throughout Indonesia from September 6-12, 2021. The survey method used was an online survey with a *non-probability sampling* method.
