According to data from the Indonesian Payment System Association (ASPI), as of March 31, or the end of Q1 2025, approximately 38 million merchants in Indonesia accepted payments via QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard).
This represents an increase of around 6 million merchants, or a 19% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to the end of Q1 of the previous year.
At the end of Q1 2025, the highest number of QRIS merchants was in West Java, with approximately 8.24 million merchants, equivalent to 21% of the total national QRIS merchants.
Other provinces with a significant number of QRIS merchants include Jakarta, East Java, Central Java, and Banten.
Combined, the number of QRIS merchants in these five Javanese provinces reached 24.89 million, equivalent to 65% of the total national QRIS merchants.
