The Investment Alert Task Force (SWI) has blocked 135 illegal online lending (pinjol) platforms from January to February 2023. This includes 50 illegal pinjol blocked in January and 85 in February.

Overall, the SWI has shut down a total of 4,567 illegal pinjol entities from 2018 to February 2023. The highest number of blocked illegal pinjol platforms was in 2019, with 1,493.

Using this data, the SWI coordinates the blocking of websites and applications and submits reports to the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) for further action according to their authority.

"The SWI urges the public to check the legality of companies by visiting the websites of the supervising authorities before participating in investment offers or online loans, or check whether they are on the list of entities stopped by the Investment Alert Task Force," said Tongam.
