How Much Third-Party Banking Funding is Guaranteed?

As of February 2017, the total amount of Third-Party Funds (DPK) in the banking sector reached Rp 2.59 quadrillion (thousand trillion). This amount consists of DPK with deposits up to Rp 2 billion totaling Rp 2.12 quadrillion and deposits exceeding Rp 2 billion totaling Rp 472.48 trillion. Meanwhile, DPK in the banking sector not guaranteed by the Deposit Insurance Institution reached Rp 2.24 quadrillion, or approximately 46.4 percent of the total Rp 4.84 quadrillion.

The number of guaranteed DPK accounts reached 201.9 million accounts with deposits up to Rp 2 billion and 472,000 accounts with deposits exceeding Rp 2 billion.

On May 8, 2017, the government officially enacted Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) Number 1/2017 concerning access to financial data for tax purposes. With the enactment of this Perppu, the Directorate General of Taxes now has unlimited access to information related to the bank account data of customers and other financial institutions.
