Most UMKM BLT recipients use the funds to buy raw materials.

A survey by the BRI Research Institute shows that the majority of respondents receiving the Productive Micro Business Presidential Assistance (BPUM) used the funds for productive purposes. 75.4% of respondents used the BPUM funds to purchase raw materials, seeds, or merchandise.

15.1% of respondents also used the funds to purchase production or business equipment. In addition to business needs, 4.2% of respondents used the funds to meet their family's daily living expenses.

Furthermore, 1.3% of respondents used the BPUM funds to pay off debts. 1% of respondents also used the funds for school expenses. The smallest proportion of funds was used for paying wages (0.8%) and medical expenses (0.1%).

BPUM is a direct cash assistance (BLT) provided to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) throughout Indonesia. This assistance has had a positive impact on business owners.

44.8% of MSMEs that are still operating assessed that BPUM funds increased their business capacity and performance. Meanwhile, 51.1% of temporarily closed MSMEs stated that BPUM funds contributed to their businesses resuming operations.
