According to a report by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), there were 2,216 natural disasters in Indonesia between January 1 and August 2, 2023.

The disasters also resulted in damage to 22,055 houses: 2,948 houses were severely damaged, 3,132 moderately damaged, and 15,975 slightly damaged.

Furthermore, 518 public facilities were damaged, comprising 242 educational facilities, 232 places of worship, and 44 health facilities.
