Cianjur Earthquake Update November 27, 2022: Death Toll Rises

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported an increase in the death toll from the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java.

"Regarding the search and rescue of victims, three bodies were found today. This means that with the discovery of these three, the death toll has risen to 321 people today," said BNPB Head Suharyanto, as quoted by *Kompas.com*, Sunday (27/11/2022).

Suharyanto also stated that 11 people are still missing and a joint team is still searching for them.

The number of displaced people as of Sunday (27/11/2022) reached 73,874, consisting of 33,713 men, 40,161 women, 92 people with disabilities, 1,207 pregnant women, and 4,240 elderly people.

There were also 108 severely injured victims. "This excludes those who fell ill after being displaced. These (severely injured victims) have been evacuated to the nearest health facilities," said Suharyanto.

Suharyanto also explained that the Joint Task Force has found 325 evacuation points spread across Cianjur Regency.

Of that number, 183 evacuation points accommodate more than 25 people. Then there are 142 evacuation points that were independently established by the community with a capacity of less than 25 people.
