The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) has found that over 75,000 recipients of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) program received the aid incorrectly. This finding emerged after a re-verification of the educational social assistance program by the local Department of Education (Disdik).
The Deputy Head of the DKI Jakarta Disdik, Purwosusilo, stated that the number of KJP Plus recipients in Phase I of 2023 totaled 662,194 individuals. These are children aged 6-21 years old, compiled from the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) as of February 2022 and updated in November 2023.
"After conducting eligibility testing and verification, the result is that 75,497 are ineligible," Purwosusilo explained in his official statement on Wednesday (11/10/2023).
The majority of ineligible KJP recipients were those with untraceable addresses (22,024 individuals).
Second most numerous were recipients who own a car (21,462 individuals), followed by those deemed financially capable (16,371 individuals), and those who have moved outside of DKI Jakarta (11,867 individuals).
There were also recipients deemed ineligible due to having a Land and Building Tax Value (NJOP) exceeding Rp1 billion (1,244 individuals).
Furthermore, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also found that some KJP recipients were family members of civil servants/military personnel/police officers (1,219 individuals).
The remaining ineligible recipients included those with data mismatches with the Ministry of Home Affairs; deceased recipients; those with blank or missing data; and those who did not undergo village deliberation (muskel).
The DKI Jakarta Disdik also stated that it will continue to conduct eligibility testing and re-verification of the social assistance data.
"This is to ensure that the provision of educational social assistance by the DKI Provincial Government is targeted accurately," Purwosusilo concluded.
