National gas production in the first half of 2017 reached 7,512 MMSCFD (million standard cubic feet per day) or the equivalent of 1,341 MBOEPD (thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day). This achievement represents 95.6 percent of the target of 7,859 MMSCFD or the equivalent of 1,403 MBOEPD.
SKK Migas data shows that of the 85 Contractor Contract of Work (KKKS) participants, Tepi/PHM in the Mahakam working area recorded the largest gas production, namely 1,504 MMSCFD, achieving 105 percent of the target. In second place is BP Tangguh in the Berau, Wiriagar, and Muturi working areas, with production of 1,168 MMSCFD, achieving 93 percent of the target. Meanwhile, in third place is PT Pertamina EP with production of 955 MMSCFD, achieving 100 percent of the target.
Of the 10 KKKS mentioned above, four had gas production below target in the first half of this year. The remaining 75 KKKS produced a total of 1,518 MMSCFD, or only about 80 percent of the target of 1,902 MMSCFD.
