Pertamina's Non-Subsidized Fuel Price Details - April 2024

Pertamina Patra Niaga reports that the price of non-subsidized fuel in April 2024 remains the same as the previous month. This marks the third consecutive month Pertamina has maintained non-subsidized fuel prices since the beginning of the year.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting stated that the decision not to increase or decrease fuel prices is based on the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022 concerning the Basic Price Formula in Calculating the Retail Selling Price of General Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Distributed Through Public Fuel Filling Stations.

“The adjustment of non-subsidized fuel prices is the result of an evaluation by all business entities in accordance with the applicable price formula regulation. Based on that calculation and considering the community's needs during Ramadan and Idul Fitri, management decided not to increase fuel prices in April [2024],” said Irto, as reported by Katadata on Monday (1/4/2024).

Previously, Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, said that fuel prices remain in accordance with government directives. “We don't know how long the government will maintain the fuel price,” he said at the DPR Building on Thursday (28/3/2024).

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif stated that the government will continue to hold the selling price of non-subsidized fuel until June 2024. However, the price will likely be evaluated in June, considering the movement of world oil prices. “Around June we will see. The world oil price is almost US$83 per barrel,” said Arifin when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources earlier last month (8/3/2024).

Arifin said there will be a special calculation for Pertamina because it has held back non-subsidized fuel prices to reduce the possibility of erosion of company revenue. “Well, there will be a calculation later,” he said.
