Beyond immediate actions, global MSMEs are also planning future emission reduction strategies. The SME Climate Hub categorized these plans into three statuses:

Respondents with an emission reduction plan: 46%
Respondents developing or planning to adopt an emission reduction plan by 2025: 36%
Respondents who will have an emission reduction plan by the end of 2025: 82%

The survey conducted by the SME Climate Hub was funded by the We Mean Business Coalition, its parent organization. The survey involved 471 MSMEs across 53 countries and 25 industries. For this research, MSMEs were defined as businesses with fewer than 500 employees.
