16,000 Villages Become Official LPG Agents in Indonesia, Most in NTT

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that in 2024, there were 16,885 villages/sub-districts in Indonesia that served as official LPG agents.

East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is recorded as the province with the highest number of LPG agents in Indonesia, namely in 1,913 villages/sub-districts.

Meanwhile, the province with the fewest LPG agents is DKI Jakarta, with only 30 villages/sub-districts. This is followed by Papua Pegunungan with 31 villages/sub-districts and Bali with 38 villages/sub-districts.

Below is a list of the 10 provinces with the most villages/sub-districts having official LPG agents in 2024:

1. NTT: 1,913 villages/sub-districts
2. North Sumatra: 1,356 villages/sub-districts
3. North Maluku: 1,009 villages/sub-districts
4. Aceh: 986 villages/sub-districts
5. Maluku: 861 villages/sub-districts
6. Southeast Sulawesi: 816 villages/sub-districts
7. East Java: 786 villages/sub-districts
8. Central Sulawesi: 744 villages/sub-districts
9. West Sumatra: 743 villages/sub-districts
10. Riau: 704 villages/sub-districts

Previously, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) created a new regulation regarding subsidized LPG, which could only be purchased through designated distribution points starting February 1, 2025.

This policy caused long queues of residents at official agents to buy LPG, even resulting in fatalities. The government then revised this decision, and 370,000 shops registered as Pertamina Merchant Applications (MAP) will have their status upgraded from retailers to sub-distribution points.
