Non-subsidized 5.5 kg and 12 kg LPG Prices Drop at the End of November 2023

Pertamina Patra Niaga lowered the price of non-subsidized 5.5 and 12-kilogram (kg) liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders as of November 22, 2023.

Citing CNBC Indonesia, Irto Ginting, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, stated that the price reduction was implemented after considering the trend of changes in the Aramco Contract Price (CPA) publication and the Indonesian Rupiah exchange rate.

He explained that this consideration and evaluation showed a decrease in the Rupiah price per kilogram (Rp/kg) due to the weakening of the US dollar against the Rupiah.

"Considering this trend, Pertamina Patra Niaga decided to conduct an evaluation and price adjustment for all non-subsidized LPG products, namely all variants of Bright Gas and Elpiji, effective November 22, 2023," said Irto in a written statement on Thursday (November 23, 2023).

Through its website, Pertamina states that the lowest prices are in the Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara regions.

The price of a 5.5 kg Bright Gas cylinder is set at Rp90,000. Previously, in June 2023, this item was priced at Rp96,000 per cylinder.

Similarly, the price of a 12 kg Bright Gas cylinder is Rp192,000, down from Rp204 in June 2023.

The highest prices are in Papua and Maluku, with a 5.5 kg Bright Gas cylinder costing Rp117,000 and a 12 kg cylinder costing Rp249,000.

This release of non-subsidized household LPG selling prices is for agents outside a 60 km radius from the filling plant location. This price excludes transportation or shipping costs.
