Three proposals for the 2024 Bekasi Regency UMK increase have emerged from the local Wage Council meeting, submitted by the regency government, employers, and labor unions.

"Because they couldn't reach an agreement, each party submitted their own proposal. Edi stated that the regency government proposed a 1.59% minimum wage increase, or an additional Rp81,678 compared to the 2023 UMK. If approved, the 2024 Bekasi Regency UMK would be Rp5,219,262.

The Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) of Bekasi Regency proposed a 1.16% increase, or Rp59,904. If approved, the 2024 Bekasi Regency UMK would be Rp5,197,479.

Meanwhile, labor unions are requesting a 14% increase, or Rp770,000. If approved, next year's Bekasi Regency UMK would be Rp5,907,575.

"All recommendations have been submitted to the West Java Provincial Government for the Governor's final determination," said Edi.

The 2023 Bekasi Regency UMK was Rp5,137,574. This figure makes Bekasi Regency one of the regions with the highest UMK in Indonesia.
