The Number of Poor People in Bali Increased by 4.7% in September 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the number of poor people in Bali reached 211,460 in September 2021. This figure increased by 4.7% (9,490 people) compared to March 2021, which was 201,970 people.

Meanwhile, compared to September 2020, the number of poor people increased by 7.4% (14,540 people). The poverty rate in September 2021 was recorded at 4.72%, up 0.19 percentage points from March 2021 and up 0.27 percentage points from September 2020.

Based on place of residence, the number of urban poor in September 2021 was recorded at 137,600 people, up 8,020 people compared to March 2021, which was 129,580 people.

Meanwhile, the number of poor people in rural areas was 73,860 in September 2021, an increase of 1,470 people compared to March 2021, which was reported at 72,390 people.

In September 2021, on average, poor households in Bali had 4.74 members. Thus, the average Poverty Line (PL) per poor household was Rp 2,261,507 per month.
