Poverty Rate in Regencies/Cities of West Sumatra Province, March 2025

According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there were 312.35 thousand people in West Sumatra classified as poor in March 2025.

This proportion of the poor population is equivalent to 5.35% of the total population in the province.

BPS defines the poor population as residents whose average expenditure is below the poverty line.

In March 2025, the poverty line in West Sumatra Province was Rp729,806 per capita per month.

Based on region, the highest poverty rate in West Sumatra was in Mentawai Islands Regency, while the lowest was in Sawahlunto City.
