10 Countries With the Highest CEO Compensation

Chief executive officers (CEOs) in the United States have the highest income among the 25 countries with the largest stock market capitalization in the world. According to the Global CEO Pay Index released by Bloomberg on November 16, 2016, the compensation of company leaders in the United States reached US$16.9 million. This is 2.6 times the average CEO income worldwide, which was US$6.51 million. This income is a package comprising salary, pension benefits, profit bonuses, commissions, and others.

Second place is held by CEO pay in Swiss companies, reaching US$10.58 million, or 1.62 times the average, and in third place is the income of UK CEOs, earning US$9.61 million, or 1.47 times the average.

China (24th) and Thailand (25th) have the lowest CEO incomes, at US$0.64 million and US$0.06 million respectively.
