This is a List of the 10 Regencies/Cities in Central Java Province with the Highest 2023 Minimum Provincial Wages (UMK).

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo announced the 2023 Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK) for Central Java at the PT HWI 2 factory in Pati Regency on Wednesday (7/12/2022). The UMK will be effective from January 1, 2023.

According to Ganjar, the UMK determination is in accordance with the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 18 of 2022 concerning the Determination of the Minimum Wage for 2023.

“The UMK determination considers provincial inflation, the economic growth of regencies/cities, and the alpha value,” he said in a press conference as released on the Jatengprov.go.id website.

The alpha value is a specific index reflecting the contribution of labor to economic growth, with a specific value within a certain range, namely 0.1-0.3. The determination of the alpha value must consider productivity and job creation.

The highest 2023 UMK is in Semarang City, at Rp3.06 million. The next highest UMKs are Demak Regency at Rp2.68 million, Kendal Regency at Rp2.51 million, Semarang Regency at Rp2.48 million, and Kudus Regency at Rp2.43 million.

The lowest UMK in Central Java is in Banjarnegara Regency, at Rp1.96 million. Following this are Wonogiri Regency at Rp1.97 million and Sragen Regency at Rp1.97 million.

Percentage-wise, the highest UMK increase occurred in Semarang City at 7.95%, and the lowest in Kudus Regency at 6.4%.

Semarang City recorded the highest nominal increase in UMK in 2023, at Rp225,330. Following this is Semarang Regency with a UMK increase of Rp169,740 and Kendal Regency with an increase of Rp167,980.

Kebumen Regency recorded the lowest increase in UMK in 2023, at Rp129,100. Following this are Wonogiri Regency with a UMK increase of Rp129,400 and Magelang City with an increase of Rp130,090.
