The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reported that the realization of social assistance spending (bansos) in the first quarter of 2024 reached Rp43.3 trillion.
Spending increased by 20.7% compared to the first quarter of last year, which amounted to Rp35.9 trillion.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani explained that social assistance spending in the first quarter of last year was relatively low because the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) was adjusting the social welfare data (DTKS).
This DTKS adjustment resulted in a delay in the disbursement of social assistance.
"In 2024, (the disbursement of social assistance) resumed regularly without any problems with the DTKS or modalities for transfer, either through banks or through PT Pos," said Sri Mulyani in the APBN KiTa press conference on the Kemenkeu YouTube channel, Friday (26/4/2024).
She detailed that in the first quarter of 2024, most social assistance was disbursed through the Ministry of Social Affairs, amounting to Rp20.4 trillion.
These funds were used for the Family Hope Program (PKH) for 10 million beneficiary families (KPM), and the Sembako Card for 18.7 million KPM.
"This is a program that already exists in the APBN Law," said Sri Mulyani.
Next, the disbursement of social assistance through the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) reached Rp11.6 trillion, for Health Insurance Contribution Assistance (PBI JKN) to 96.7 million participants.
Then, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) disbursed Rp9.9 trillion in social assistance for the Indonesia Pintar Program (PIP) for 7.9 million students, and the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) for 605,400 students.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) then realized Rp1.4 trillion in social assistance for PIP assistance for 1.5 million students, and KIP College for 37,100 students.
Finally, social assistance was disbursed through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) amounting to Rp34 billion for emergency disaster response.
