2023 Data: Unemployment in Sintang Regency 2.92%

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the open unemployment rate (OUR) in Sintang Regency in December 2023 decreased by 0.05% to 2.92% compared to December 2022. Over the past eight years, the open unemployment rate (OUR) has steadily increased at a faster rate than in previous years.

The open unemployment rate (OUR) over the past ten years reached its highest point in 2020 at 4.5% and its lowest point in 2016 at 1.93%.

Compared to other regencies/cities, the open unemployment rate (OUR) in this regency/city ranks 302nd nationally. The national average open unemployment rate (OUR) in 2023 was 4.6%.

The decrease in the open unemployment rate (OUR) is reflected in the number of employed people and the labor force figures published by BPS this year. The labor force in Sintang Regency has shown an upward trend over the past 16 years and continued to rise post-covid. Over the past four years, the labor force has also followed an upward trend. In 2021, the labor force was recorded at 243,810 workers, then decreased by 7,703 workers to 240,230 workers in 2023.
