2023 Aceh Provincial Minimum Wage (UMK): Mostly the Same as the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP)

The 2023 Aceh Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) has reached Rp 3.41 million, an increase of Rp 247,606 (7.8%) from the previous year.

The Aceh UMP was determined based on the results of a plenary meeting of the Aceh Provincial Wage Council, comprising representatives from the government, employer organizations, labor unions, academics, and labor experts.

In a press statement, the Spokesperson for the Aceh Provincial Government, Muhammad MTA, stated that the UMP increase adheres to Indonesian Minister of Manpower Decree No. 18 of 2022 concerning the Determination of the 2023 Minimum Wage.

"Every company is obligated to formulate a wage structure and scale for its employees, considering factors such as length of service, education level, skills, competence, and so on," said Muhammad.

This determination was then formalized in Aceh Governor's Decree Number 560/1539/2022 dated November 24, 2022, concerning the Determination of the 2023 Aceh UMP, and is effective from January 1, 2023.

In Aceh Province, only two regions have set their own 2023 District/City Minimum Wage (UMK): Banda Aceh City at Rp 3.54 million and Aceh Tamiang Regency at Rp 3.46 million. In the other 21 regencies/cities, the UMK is the same as the UMP.

The following is a list of the 21 regencies/cities where the UMK is the same as the 2023 Aceh UMP:

10. Bireuen: Rp 3,413,666
11. Bener Meriah: Rp 3,413,666
12. Aceh Utara: Rp 3,413,666
13. Aceh Timur: Rp 3,413,666
14. Aceh Tenggara: Rp 3,413,666
15. Aceh Tengah: Rp 3,413,666
