According to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), out of all workers in Indonesia in 2024, 14.37% are classified as female breadwinners.

Female breadwinners are women who work and have the most dominant income in the household, or are even the primary breadwinners for their families.

Below is the percentage contribution of female breadwinners to household income in 2024:

90–100%: 47.65%
50–59.9%: 23.64%
60–69.9%: 10.42%
Less than 50%: 9.43%
70–79.9%: 5.44%
80–89.9%: 3.41%

BPS also noted that 9.15% of female breadwinners in Indonesia have side jobs. This low percentage is considered to reflect limitations in opportunities and capacity to seek additional income.
