Based on the West Java Governor's Decree Number: 561.7/kep.798-kesra/2024, the 2025 Karawang Regency Minimum Wage (UMK) is set at Rp5.6 million.
This amount is the second highest in West Java, after Bekasi City at Rp5.69 million.
In addition to setting the UMK, the West Java Provincial Government also set the 2025 Kabupaten/Kota Sectoral Minimum Wage (UMSK) through West Java Governor's Decree Number: 561.7/kep.838-kesra/2024.
The 2025 Karawang UMSK is also set for 7 sectors, including automotive, automotive components, electronics, electronic components, metal and steel, chemical pharmaceuticals, and multinational company labor-intensive industries.
The Karawang UMSK for these 7 sectors is generally the same, namely Rp5.63 million. Specifically for the multinational company labor-intensive sector, the minimum wage is set at Rp5.61 million.
West Java Governor's Decree Number: 561.7/kep.838-kesra/2024 stipulates that if employers cannot pay workers according to the 2025 UMSK, they can conduct bipartite negotiations with the workers or labor unions.
"The results of the bipartite negotiations are made in writing, signed by the parties involved, and reported to the West Java Governor through the West Java Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office," states the second-A dictum of the governor's decision.
In addition, there is a decision stating that employers who have paid wages higher than the UMSK are not permitted to reduce and/or lower their workers' wages.
