Populix surveyed Indonesian Gen Z's reasons for staying in their current jobs, even if those jobs are outside their comfort zones.

The results show that 37% of respondents remain in their positions because of opportunities for learning and development.

Other reasons include attractive salaries and benefits (28%), job stability (15%), and a strategic work location (13%).

Furthermore, 7% of Gen Z respondents remain in their jobs due to support from colleagues and superiors.

"Many Gen Z professionals stay in roles outside their comfort zone, not because it’s easy, but because it offers something more to continuous learning, growth, and get a meaningful support," Populix stated on its official Instagram account on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

"Balancing challenge and development helps organizations retain them," they added.

This Populix survey involved 2,388 respondents across Indonesia. The online survey was conducted from July 16-18, 2025.
