Top 5 Institutions with the Highest Number of Withdrawn CPNS Applications

The State Civil Apparatus Agency (BKN) recorded that 1,967 prospective civil servants (CPNS) for 2024 withdrew after passing the selection process.

"After optimization, 1,967 withdrew, or about 12.12%. Alhamdulillah, 88% of previously vacant positions have been filled," said BKN Head Zudan Arif Fakrulloh in a meeting with Commission II of the DPR (House of Representatives) on Tuesday (April 22, 2025).

Zudan explained that these prospective civil servants withdrew due to the government's optimization scheme. Some CPNS candidates who initially failed to be accepted in their chosen positions were subsequently accepted in other regions with unfilled positions.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) had the highest number of withdrawing CPNS, with 575 individuals.

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) had 154 withdrawals, followed by the General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) with 131, and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) with 21.

The government imposed no sanctions on CPNS candidates who withdrew due to optimization.

"Because it's a matter of choice; if they want to accept it, they can; if not, it's also fine," said Zudan.
