There are 45 Million Active BPJS TK Participants in December 2024, with the Highest Number in Jakarta.

According to data from the Ministry of Manpower, 45.22 million workers were registered as active participants in the social security program at the Manpower Employment Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan or BPJS TK) in December 2024.

This figure comprises 29.31 million active participants in the wage recipient (PU) category; 9.9 million in the non-wage recipient (BPU) category; and 6.02 million in the construction services category.

Note that PU participants are enrolled in the Work Accident Insurance (JKK), Death Insurance (JKm), Old-Age Security Insurance (JHT), and Pension Insurance (JP) programs.

BPU participants, however, are enrolled in JKK, JKm, and JHT programs, excluding JP. Construction services participants are only enrolled in JKK and JKm programs.

Generally, DKI Jakarta has the highest number of active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants in Indonesia, reaching 8.18 million, equivalent to 18% of the total national active participants.

The following is a list of the top 10 provinces with the highest number of active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants as of December 2024:

1. DKI Jakarta: 8.18 million people
2. West Java: 5.45 million people
3. East Java: 5.33 million people
4. Central Java: 4.69 million people
5. Banten: 2.95 million people
6. North Sumatra: 2.18 million people
7. East Kalimantan: 1.39 million people
8. South Sulawesi: 1.26 million people
9. Riau: 1.16 million people
10. Bali: 1.11 million people

Meanwhile, West Sulawesi has the fewest active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants, with only 79,150 people. This is followed by Maluku with 164,670 people and Bangka Belitung Islands with 203,600 people.

In December 2024, the majority of active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants were male, with 30.87 million, while female participants numbered 14.35 million.
