Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) shows that there were 180 cases of strikes in Indonesia during the January-August 2024 period. These cases involved at least 27,190 workers and resulted in a loss of 217,520 working hours.

The decree states that strikes are a fundamental right of workers and/or trade unions, conducted legally, orderly, and peacefully as a result of failed negotiations.
