What is the budget for the 13th-month salary and THR (Religious Festival Allowance) for civil servants?

The Indonesian government has allocated Rp 23 trillion (approximately US$1.7 billion) in its 2017 budget for the 13th-month salary and Eid al-Fitr (THR) bonuses for civil servants (PNS) and pensioners. This represents an increase from the Rp 17.9 trillion allocated in 2016. The 13th-month salary and THR are scheduled to be disbursed in June 2017, two weeks before Eid al-Fitri.

Although there was no basic salary increase last year, the budget for the 13th-month salary and THR for civil servants and pensioners has increased this year due to promotions and changes in job positions resulting in higher budgetary allocations. The Rp 23 trillion figure for the 13th-month salary and THR is in accordance with the 2017 State Budget (APBN) law. Currently, the disbursement awaits the Presidential approval of the Government Regulation.

According to data from the Directorate General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance, the realization of the 13th-month salary and THR payments for civil servants and pensioners in 2016 was as follows: Rp 6.5 trillion for active civil servants, Rp 6.2 trillion for pensioners, and Rp 5.2 trillion for THR for both groups.
