Best Cities in Asia for Education

The QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) released the best student cities in the world in 2022. These cities were assessed as the best places for education and categorized as "Best Student Cities".

This ranking considered various factors, such as having at least two universities included in the latest QS WUR rankings.

Furthermore, the affordability of education and living costs, the number of international students, safety and health, and student surveys were also assessed in this ranking.

Here are the top 10 Best Student Cities in Asia based on QS WUR:

1. Seoul, South Korea
2. Tokyo, Japan
3. Hong Kong, Hong Kong
4. Singapore, Singapore
5. Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe, Japan
6. Beijing, China
7. Taipei, Taiwan
8. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
9. Shanghai, China
10. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan, were named the best student cities in Asia this year, both scoring 96.1 out of 100. Globally, both cities ranked third.

Seoul ranked highest in the indicator of the number of universities included in the QS WUR rankings. More than 21 universities in Seoul are listed in the QS WUR Rankings 2022, with the highest-ranked being Seoul National University, 36th globally.

In addition, the average tuition fee for international students in Seoul is US$6,300 per year. This is the most affordable compared to other Asian cities in the QS WUR ranking.

Meanwhile, Tokyo, Japan, was rated as the city with the best job opportunities as it is one of the three leading financial centers in the world, besides New York and London. Furthermore, Tokyo is a dream city for international students because the standard of living is quite good.
