The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has added a quota of 82 study programs (prodi) for medical scholarships and fellowships in 2023. This is an increase from the previous 47 programs.
Director General of Health Resources, Arianti Anaya, stated that the increase in scholarships and fellowships aims to meet and equalize the services of specialist doctors, such as those specializing in cancer, heart disease, stroke, uro-nephrology, and Maternal and Child Health (KIA).
These specialist doctors, said Arianti, will serve all government-owned health facilities, especially in Eastern Indonesia, as well as remote, underdeveloped, border, and island regions (DTPK).
“Previously, we only provided scholarship quotas for 47 specialist and sub-specialist medical programs. In 2023, this has been increased to 82 programs, including fellowships and primary care specialist doctors,” said Arianti, as quoted from the SehatNegeriku website on Saturday (December 10).
Specifically, the addition of 82 study program quotas for scholarships and fellowships consists of 51 programs for specialist and sub-specialist doctors, 29 fellowships, and 2 primary care specialist doctors.
According to Arianti, the increase has been adjusted to existing needs. The Ministry has also asked provincial and district/city health offices, as well as the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), to intensify socialization and education regarding this recruitment.
The increase in scholarship and fellowship quotas is stipulated in Circular Letter Number HK.02.02/F/2812/2022 concerning the Recruitment of the Ministry of Health's Medical Education and Fellowship Assistance Program in 2023.
Medical scholarship registration has been open since December 9th and will close on December 23rd, 2022. Further information on this scholarship can be accessed through the portal https://bandikdok.kemkes.go.id or by emailing tim1.ditpennakes@gmail.com.
