The Indonesian government has allocated IDR 769.09 trillion for the education budget in the 2026 State Budget (APBN).
This allocation is stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 118 of 2025 concerning the Details of the 2026 Fiscal Year State Budget, which was enacted and promulgated on November 28, 2025.
Of this total, IDR 470.46 trillion is allocated through central government expenditures, IDR 264.62 trillion through Transfers to Regions (TKD), and IDR 34 trillion through financing.
The total education budget is distributed across various ministries, agencies, and programs. Out of the IDR 769.09 trillion, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN)—which manages the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program—received an allocation of IDR 223.56 trillion.
This funding makes BGN the institution with the largest share of the education budget, accounting for 29% of the total allocation.
