This is a Problem with the National Education Policy According to Citizens

The Kompas Research and Development (Litbang) survey investigated public perception of the government's education policies.

The results show that 32% of respondents considered the main problem with national education policies to be excessive influence from political interests.

"Despite the euphemism of quality improvement, education policies are inseparable from political interests," stated the Kompas Litbang team in their report on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Other respondents cited problems such as misallocation of funds (27.2%), too many short-term changes (17.5%), excessive influence from business interests (10.3%), and lack of public involvement in policy-making (6.2%).

"The misallocation of funds is related to pressure from certain parties demanding involvement in educational innovation programs for material gain," said the Kompas Litbang team.

The survey also found that a majority, or 78%, of respondents were concerned that APBN (State Budget) efficiency could lower the quality of education in Indonesia.

This poll was conducted among 510 respondents from 54 cities across 28 provinces, randomly selected from the Kompas Litbang panel, proportionally representing the population of each province.

Data collection was carried out from April 21-24, 2025, through telephone interviews. The survey's margin of error is approximately 4.25% with a 95% confidence level, under conditions of simple random sampling.
