Food Prices in East Java Today: Red Chili Price Rises, Cayenne Pepper Falls

The prices of several food ingredients in East Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency's (Bapanas) food price panel data on Wednesday (October 1, 2025) at 09.48 AM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include SPHP rice, bulk cooking oil, dried soybean seeds (imported), consumption salt, and medium rice.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as packaged cooking oil, broiler chicken meat, bulk wheat flour, consumption sugar, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Dried soybean seeds (imported) saw the highest jump of Rp329 (3.4%) to Rp9,996 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red cayenne pepper fell most sharply by Rp1,323 (4.36%) to Rp29,033 per kg.

8. Shallots: Rp31,567 per kg (down 4.12%)
9. Garlic Bulbs: Rp30,300 per kg (down 0.18%)
10. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp29,033 per kg (down 4.36%)
11. Broiler Eggs: Rp27,923 per kg (up 0.63%)
12. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp19,894 per liter (down 0.05%)
