Recreational, Sports, and Cultural Spending in Jakarta Increased by 0.12% in June

Expenditure on newspapers, books, and school supplies in Jakarta in June was 0.12%. This figure is lower than the previous month's 0.19%. Among the nine inflation groups measured in this region, the recreation, sports, and culture group contributed 0.04% to the region's inflation.

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that the consumer price index (CPI) for recreation, sports, and culture in Jakarta was at 105.57 in June 2024, higher than the previous month's 105.44.

Compared to the same month last year, inflation in recreation, sports, and culture has fallen by 9.24% (year-on-year/YoY). Compared to the beginning of the year, expenditure in Jakarta has experienced a growth of -0.37% (year-to-date/YTD).

Based on BPS survey data for June 2024, these 11 inflation groups ranked fifth compared to other subgroups.

The following is the inflation of the recreation, sports, and culture subgroups measured by BPS for June in Jakarta:

* Recreation, sports, and culture: 0.04%

Compared to 68 other regencies/cities, the highest inflation in recreation, sports, and culture occurred in Balikpapan City at 0.01% with a CPI of 99.38, and the lowest occurred in North Penajam Paser Regency at 2.09% with a CPI of 112.76. Jakarta ranked 35th.

In June 2024, BPS recorded national inflation at 0.12% monthly and -23.07% annually. Although lower than the previous month's inflation, this monthly inflation rate is not as high as the same period last year, which was recorded at 3.28%.
