The Ministry of Finance reported that the realization of the social protection budget in the first semester of 2022 reached Rp188.2 trillion, a 5.1% year-on-year (yoy) increase from Rp179.1 trillion in the first semester of the previous year.

In detail, the realization of the social protection budget in the first semester of 2022 consisted of National Economic Recovery (PEN) program spending of Rp70.9 trillion and non-PEN spending of Rp117.2 trillion.

Sri Mulyani assessed that the progress of PEN disbursement in the social protection cluster in the first half of this year was quite high, compared to the first half of last year, which amounted to Rp66.8 trillion.

The increase in realization in this cluster was influenced by spending by ministries/agencies (K/L) through the Sembako Card program, Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for cooking oil, assistance for street vendors, and fishermen, as well as the disbursement of the Family Hope Program (PKH).

The increase also occurred due to non-K/L spending in the form of energy subsidies, including fuel subsidies, electricity subsidies, and LPG subsidies.

The realization of Transfers to Regions and Village Funds (TKDD) also supported the increase in the disbursement of the social protection budget through Village BLT.
