Latest Food Prices in East Java: Chili Prices Up, Corn Prices Down (Tuesday, December 5, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (5/12/2023) at 12:34 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 15 commodities increased and 4 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, shallots, granulated sugar, pure beef, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as mackerel, farmer-level corn, bulk cooking oil, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp2,780 (3.85%) to Rp74,980 per kg. Farmer-level corn prices saw the lowest decrease, dropping Rp100 (1.58%) to Rp6,240 per kg.
