Today's Food Prices in South Sumatra: Chili Prices Up, Beef Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 09:44 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 11 commodities increased in price and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, whole garlic cloves, red chilies, SPHP rice, and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), bulk cooking oil, bulk wheat flour, chicken eggs, and pure beef have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp3,940 (11.43%) to Rp38,420 per kg. Skipjack tuna experienced the largest price decrease, down by Rp910 (3.35%) to Rp26,290 per kg.

6. Mackerel: Rp38,420 per kg (up 11.43%)
7. Chicken Meat: Rp36,920 per kg (up 1.62%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp29,490 per kg (down 0.54%)
9. Milkfish: Rp28,360 per kg (up 2.68%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp26,290 per kg (down 3.35%)
