Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Salt Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (18/11/2024) at 12.09 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk wheat flour, mackerel, skipjack tuna, SPHP rice, and fine iodized salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as simple packaged cooking oil, milkfish, granulated sugar, shallots, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna prices increased the most, by Rp2,440 (6.62%) to Rp39,280 per kg. Red chili prices decreased the most sharply, by Rp10,060 (24.13%) to Rp31,630 per kg.

6. Red Chili: Rp31,630 per kg (down 24.13%)
7. Milkfish: Rp30,000 per kg (down 6.04%)
8. Curly Red Chili: Rp29,970 per kg (down 2.19%)
9. Shallot: Rp29,880 per kg (down 0.27%)
10. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,570 per kg (down 0.07%)
11. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,850 per kg (down 0.22%)
