Presidential candidate Anies Baswedan has chosen Muhaimin Iskandar, the General Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB), also known as Cak Imin, as his running mate in the 2024 General Election.
This decision was declared by Anies at the Majapahit Hotel in Surabaya, East Java, on Saturday (2/9/2023).
The declaration took place a day after the PKB accepted the offer from the Nasdem Party to pair Anies with Cak Imin. Nasdem Party General Chairperson Surya Paloh stated that this pair will be the first presidential and vice-presidential candidates to register with the General Election Commission (KPU).
"When the KPU opens registration for presidential and vice-presidential candidates, God willing, this pair will be the first to register," Surya said, as reported by Katadata.co.id, Saturday (2/9/2023).
Registration for presidential and vice-presidential candidates at the General Election Commission (KPU) will open from October 19 to November 25, 2023.
