Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Rice, Egg, and Oil Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (5/1/2025) at 08.04 WIB, out of 18 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include broiler chicken, simple packaged cooking oil, premium rice, SPHP rice, and medium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, bulk wheat flour, iodized fine salt, bulk cooking oil, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of broiler chicken saw the highest increase, jumping Rp6,610 (17.54%) to Rp44,300 per kg. The price of iodized fine salt saw the sharpest decrease, dropping Rp2,500 (15.92%) to Rp13,200 per kg.

4. Broiler Chicken: Rp44,300 per kg (up 17.54%)
5. Garlic Bulb: Rp40,000 per kg (down 0.7%)
6. Red Onion: Rp39,250 per kg (up 7.24%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp38,400 per kg (up 7.65%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp32,800 per kg (up 9.63%)
9. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp19,000 per liter (up 3.26%)
10. Granulated Sugar: Rp18,000 per kg (down 0.28%)
11. Premium Rice: Rp17,750 per kg (up 2.54%)
12. Medium Rice: Rp16,750 per kg (up 9.41%)
