According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 835,170, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp33,640,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 361st.
Of the 17 sectors driving the regency's economy, the manufacturing industry is the leading sector.
In 2023, the manufacturing sector in Batang Regency recorded a value of Rp9.64 trillion. This is the highest among the 17 sectors, showing a 5.28% growth compared to the previous year's Rp8.72 trillion.
The second-largest contributor to Batang Regency's GRDP is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, which experienced a negative growth of -0.29%, reaching Rp5.31 trillion. This is followed by the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector with a GRDP of Rp3.49 trillion (6.26% growth).
Rounding out the top five is the education services sector with a GRDP of Rp1.52 trillion. This sector recorded a 6.31% growth compared to the previous year's Rp1.41 trillion.

Based on its distribution, the manufacturing sector contributed the most to Batang Regency's GRDP growth in 2023, accounting for 32.67%. Other top five sectors include agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; construction; and education services.
Sectors with the smallest distribution include Real Estate; Health and Social Services; Business Services; Water Supply; Waste Management, Waste and Recycling; and Electricity and Gas Supply.
