Latest Food Prices in Central Java: Salt Up, Chilies Down (Wednesday, January 24, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (24/1/2024) at 09.11 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include shallot bulbs, skipjack tuna, premium rice, bulk cooking oil, and (bulk) wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, pure beef, farmer-level corn, medium rice, and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp2,080 (17.69%) to Rp13,840 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chilies saw the lowest decrease, down Rp4,370 (8.12%) to Rp49,450 per kg.
