Indonesia Food Prices Monday (May 20th): Chili Prices Up, Oil Prices Down

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on food price panel data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) on Monday (20/5/2024) at 14.13 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dry soybean (import), farmer-level corn, granulated sugar, Indian mackerel, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, iodized fine salt, skipjack tuna, bulk wheat flour, and chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of curly red chilies saw the highest increase, jumping by Rp840 (1.84%) to Rp46,580 per kg. The price of milkfish saw the lowest decrease, dropping by Rp600 (1.8%) to Rp32,800 per kg.
