Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Oil and Egg Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (2/10/2024) at 13.44 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 4 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include Indian mackerel, red chilies, SPHP rice, red chilies, and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, broiler chicken, milkfish, and red onions decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,310 (3.12%) to Rp43,250 per kg. Red onions saw the sharpest price drop, falling Rp470 (1.76%) to Rp26,160 per kg.
