Government Spending Growth Slight at 0.8% in October 2021

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) recorded that state expenditure reached Rp 2,058.9 trillion by October 2021, a slight increase of 0.8% compared to the same period last year, which was Rp 2,041.8 trillion. This realization reached 74.9% of its target in the 2021 State Budget (APBN) of Rp 2,750 trillion.

In detail, the realization of ministry/agency (K/L) expenditure reached Rp 833.1 trillion in October 2021. This figure grew by 14.8% compared to the same period the previous year, which was Rp 725.7 trillion.

Meanwhile, the realization of non-K/L expenditure was recorded at Rp 583.1 trillion last month. This amount decreased by 5.7% compared to October 2020, which reached Rp 618.2 trillion.

Similarly, the realization of transfers to regions and village funds (TKDD) also decreased. It was recorded at Rp 642.6 trillion in October 2021. This amount decreased by 7.9% from October 2020, which reached Rp 698 trillion.

Kemenkeu also recorded state revenue realization of Rp 1,510 trillion in October 2021. This figure is lower than the expenditure realization, resulting in Indonesia still experiencing a budget deficit of Rp 548.9 trillion or 3.29% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
