Today's Food Prices (25/2) in East Java: Sugar and Onion Prices Rise

Some food commodity prices in East Java today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Quoting data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Wednesday (February 25, 2026) at 18:05 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 6 decreased.

The commodities that experienced price increases are premium packaged palm cooking oil, medium rice, shallots, beef rump, and loose granulated sugar.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken meat, red cayenne pepper, Honan garlic, large red chili, and imported soybeans decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallot prices jumped the highest by Rp214 (0.59%) to Rp36,425 per kg. Meanwhile, red cayenne pepper prices dropped the most sharply by Rp3,412 (4.18%) to Rp78,237 per kg.

2. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp78,237 per kg (down 4.18%)
3. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp38,136 per kg (down 0.46%)
4. Shallots: Rp36,425 per kg (up 0.59%)
5. Curly Red Chili: Rp31,714 per kg (down 3.76%)
6. Honan Garlic: Rp30,940 per kg (down 0.17%)
7. Large Red Chili: Rp29,732 per kg (down 2.39%)
8. Broiler Eggs: Rp29,439 per kg (up 0.47%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp20,081 per liter (up 0.01%)
10. Loose Palm Cooking Oil: Rp17,816 per liter (unchanged)
11. Loose Granulated Sugar: Rp16,394 per kg (up 0.06%)
