Local White Sugar Prices in North Sumatra's Traditional Markets Decreased by 0.27% in the Last Month

Based on the latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel, the daily price of local granulated sugar in traditional markets in North Sumatra Province is recorded at Rp18,800. This price remains unchanged compared to the previous day, and similarly, there has been no change in price over the past week.

Compared to the price 30 days ago, the daily price of local granulated sugar in traditional markets has decreased from Rp18,850.

Meanwhile, the daily price of local granulated sugar in traditional markets in North Sumatra over the past three months has increased by 1.62% from the previous price of Rp18,500.

The highest recorded increase in the daily price of local granulated sugar in traditional markets in this province was in September 2016, with an increase of 4.36%, while the lowest decrease was recorded in May 2020, with a decrease of -5.75%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in North Sumatra show 22 commodities decreased and eight increased. The sembako with decreased prices are: Grade 2 Beef (daily, traditional market, by province), Curly Red Chili (daily, traditional market, by province), Grade 1 Beef (daily, traditional market, by province), Red Chili (daily, traditional market, by province), Red Chili (daily, traditional market, by province), Medium-sized Garlic, Fresh Broiler Chicken (daily, traditional market, by province), Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 (daily, traditional market, by province), Granulated Sugar (daily, traditional market, by province), Garlic, Cooking Oil (daily, traditional market, by province), Medium-sized Shallots, Shallots (daily, traditional market, by province), Beef (daily, traditional market, by province), Chicken (daily, traditional market, by province), Bird's Eye Chili (daily, traditional market, by province), Fresh Layer Eggs (daily, traditional market, by province), Bulk Cooking Oil (daily, traditional market, by province), Green Bird's Eye Chili (daily, traditional market, by province), Chicken Eggs (daily, traditional market, by province), Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1 (daily, traditional market, by province), and Local Granulated Sugar (daily, traditional market, by province).
